2 Months

Our sweet little girl is 2 months old today! The past month has been so fun. She has started smiling and cooing her little heart out at us and it is just too precious for words. Definitely brings me to tears more often then not :). Her favorite smiling/cooing time is on the changing table, so diaper changes take a bit longer than usual - it's just too precious to cut short!

Anna Kate had her first round of vaccines this past Friday (we're doing an alternative vaccine schedule, so she only had 1 shot and 1 oral vaccine this time thank goodness!) and she did great. A bit of crying, but nothing too bad! 2 month stats are:

Weight: 10 lbs 9 oz (5 lbs gained since birth!) - 50th percentile
Length: 22 3/4 inches - 60ish percentile

The doc says she's doing great, great muscle tone, etc. and to not change a thing! Good news for all.

The only battle we're having is the bottle (with expressed breast milk). She does NOT want the bottle. Prefers the good 'ol fashioned way (mom) and will SCREAM when she sees the bottle coming at her. And continues to SCREAM the entire time. While this isn't too much of a problem since I'm with her all the time anyway, it does limit our activities. I know many moms who are very comfortable nursing in public, but that's just not me. I'm just not. Not that I think there is anything wrong with anyone who is comfortable nursing in public at all, I just prefer the quiet and privacy of home. So for the sake of being able to stay out for more than 2 hours at a stretch, our little girl is going to have to learn to take a bottle. Our pediatrician suggested that I leave the house for the day and let dad and baby girl work it out. That is going to break my heart and after a very short bout of that yesterday (but with me in the house for part of it), I broke down in tears and ended up running upstairs with her and feeding her. Dad is stronger than me and knows that she will eat when she is hungry enough. I'm just too emotionally tied to it, so out of the house I will go. Just not yet. I don't think we're ready (or maybe it's just me who isn't ready)!

I asked Reece if he wanted to add anything to our 2 month post, and he says he is at a loss for words and all he wants to do is stare at her :). I'll add a bit for him. He's such a great dad already and so much help to me. I truly appreciate how much he wants to be involved in every aspect that he can. He's the diaper changer when he's home, the middle of the night rocker back to sleeper, and the supporter of me when I get down on myself. He is such a blessing as a husband and now father to our daughter.

But here's what you really care about - 2 month photos! Another month has gone by and I still haven't learned how to use photoshop to insert our month on her onesie, but hopefully I can remedy that by month 3 :)?

This one looks like she's doing a cheer to me :)

Updated photo!

Her eyes are so pretty. It sounds like you are doing a great job! I also was told if mommy is not around, the baby will take the bottle from daddy....and it worked for us. I can't tell you how freeing it is to have the bottle as an option. Hope it goes well for you.

Beautiful!!! Don't get down on will work out! You are doing such a great job!!!!! No pressure to do it one way or the other. She is only 2 months give her (and you) time to adjust to the bottle. You definitely will love being able to go out a little more, but that will come with time. Don't rush it if you are not comfortable with that yet...
