1 month (and a day)

So apparently it is indeed true. Time really does go by very quickly with little ones! Our little girl is already one month old! We are learning new things about Miss Anna Kate every day and one of the early lessons learned is the need and art of being flexible. My stubborn and planning side definitely fights this attribute, but it definitely needs to win out. Once we get comfortable in one "routine" - we start into a new phase/growth spurt/schedule!

Another example of this art of being flexible is our monthly photo shoot. Of course I wanted to take the photos and write this blog post yesterday (on her actual one month birthday). Well...turns out Miss Anna Kate had other ideas, but one day late isn't so bad! I will have to update the photo once I learn a bit more about photoshop, but here are a few of my favorites from our shoot today.

Updated photo!!

I stole the fabric background idea from this blog and plan on stealing the photoshopping the date on the white onsie as well. While that couple is highly ambitious/impressive with their weekly photos, we're hoping to be able to keep up with our monthly photo shoots! I also plan on breaking out the sewing machine and making some form of keepsake (pillow, apron, outfit, etc) out of each of the fabric swatches we use as her background.

As anyone who has had a newborn can attest, there really isn't too much to report in the first month. That being said, we are definitely blessed as she tends to give her mom and dad more sleep than most newborns! She has also gone from a tiny 5 lbs 9 oz at birth to 8 lbs 4 oz as of yesterday. She is definitely enjoying being out in the world and gaining some chub to fill out her newborn sized clothes. Her favorite things so far include stretching and squeaking - both of which are quite adorable! We can't wait to see what month 2 has in store for us.
